A primary objective is to make images that rely on subjective perception and memory as their source.
Subjects are chosen in response to intuitive reactions to certain types of imagery, and to fulfill specific
aesthetic interests: qualities of light, transparency, luminosity, and rhythmic composition.
People have said they perceive a sense of stillness or quiet my work. The qualities of suspension
and of a mute consciousness are aspects I've tried to further cultivate. Identifying what makes some
images more compelling than others, then integrating those traits in the work, is one of the main goals.
Some pictures seem like simulacra of paintings that one can almost remember, but were never actually
created. The artist tries to fill this gap, to solidify what already seems to be present.
